To, co se dnes m\u016f\u017ee zd\u00e1t jako rozs\u00e1hl\u00e1 a ucelen\u00e1 instituce, bylo ve skute\u010dnosti vytv\u00e1\u0159eno kousek po kousku mu\u017ei, kte\u0159\u00ed ch\u00e1pali um\u011bn\u00ed jako d\u011bdictv\u00ed i n\u00e1stroj.<\/p>\n<p>Slovn\u00ed spojen\u00ed \u201cTesori Pontifici\u201d (pape\u017esk\u00e9 poklady) dokonale vystihuje tuto mnohovrstevnatou historii. Tato d\u00edla byla poklady v prav\u00e9m slova smyslu, ale byla tak\u00e9 symbolem intelektu\u00e1ln\u00edho spr\u00e1vcovstv\u00ed. Sb\u00edrat znamenalo spravovat pam\u011b\u0165. Uchov\u00e1vat antick\u00e9 pam\u00e1tky znamenalo n\u00e1rokovat si spojen\u00ed s <strong>\u0158\u00edm<\/strong>, imp\u00e9rium a civilizace jako takov\u00e1. Nejde jen o pouh\u00e9 prohl\u00ed\u017een\u00ed um\u011bn\u00ed, ale o vstup do historick\u00e9 p\u0159edstavivosti pape\u017estv\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Soukrom\u00e9 sb\u00edrky tak\u00e9 vysv\u011btluj\u00ed pozoruhodnou \u0161\u00ed\u0159i Vatik\u00e1nsk\u00fdch muze\u00ed. N\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bvn\u00edk se m\u016f\u017ee pohybovat od antick\u00e9ho mramoru ke k\u0159es\u0165ansk\u00e9 ikonografii, od kartografick\u00fdch z\u00e1zrak\u016f k bohat\u011b tkan\u00fdm tapiseri\u00edm, od renesan\u010dn\u00edch fresek k egyptsk\u00fdm a etrusk\u00fdm staro\u017eitnostem. Tato rozmanitost se m\u016f\u017ee zd\u00e1t a\u017e p\u0159ekvapiv\u00e1, dokud nepochop\u00edme logiku sb\u011bratelstv\u00ed, kter\u00e1 za n\u00ed stoj\u00ed. Pape\u017estv\u00ed nevybudovalo muzeum na z\u00e1klad\u011b jedin\u00e9 kategorie. Vybudovalo civiliza\u010dn\u00ed pokladnici. Shrom\u00e1\u017ed\u011bn\u00edm p\u0159edm\u011bt\u016f z r\u016fzn\u00fdch epoch a kultur se Vatik\u00e1n prezentoval jako str\u00e1\u017ece univerz\u00e1ln\u00edho d\u011bdictv\u00ed, nikoli pouze jako mecen\u00e1\u0161 jednoho obdob\u00ed nebo stylu.<\/p>\n<p>\u00daloha <strong>Raphael<\/strong> a <strong>Michelangelo<\/strong> je v tomto kontextu tak\u00e9 jasn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed. Jejich mistrovsk\u00e1 d\u00edla nebyla ojedin\u011bl\u00fdmi zak\u00e1zkami vhozen\u00fdmi do jinak n\u00e1hodn\u00e9ho prost\u0159ed\u00ed. Byly sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed \u0161ir\u0161\u00ed pape\u017esk\u00e9 strategie, jej\u00edm\u017e c\u00edlem bylo definovat Vatik\u00e1n jako vrcholnou sc\u00e9nu um\u011bleck\u00fdch \u00fasp\u011bch\u016f. Um\u011bn\u00ed pro pape\u017ee neznamenalo jen kr\u00e1su nebo historickou kuriozitu. \u0160lo tak\u00e9 o teologii, pam\u011b\u0165 a viditeln\u00fd jazyk v\u00edry. To d\u00e1v\u00e1 Vatik\u00e1nsk\u00fdm muze\u00edm jin\u00fd emocion\u00e1ln\u00ed n\u00e1dech ne\u017e mnoha sv\u011btsk\u00fdm instituc\u00edm. Jejich historie je neodd\u011bliteln\u00e1 od posv\u00e1tn\u00e9ho \u00fa\u010delu, kter\u00fd formoval v\u011bt\u0161inu jejich sb\u00edrek.<\/p>\n<p>Sb\u00edrky byly ovlivn\u011bny tak\u00e9 v\u011bdeck\u00fdmi poznatky. Humanist\u00e9, antikv\u00e1\u0159i, architekti a poradci pom\u00e1hali identifikovat, interpretovat a vyzdvihovat v\u00fdznam d\u011bl, kter\u00e1 se dost\u00e1vala do pape\u017esk\u00e9 sb\u00edrky. Vatik\u00e1n neuchov\u00e1val poklady pouze na z\u00e1klad\u011b instinktu. Uchov\u00e1val je d\u00edky studiu. Dnes Vatik\u00e1nsk\u00fdmi muzei ro\u010dn\u011b projdou miliony n\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bvn\u00edk\u016f, p\u0159esto v nich st\u00e1le p\u0159etrv\u00e1v\u00e1 pocit, \u017ee vstupujete do prostoru, kter\u00fd byl kdysi vyhrazen jen n\u011bkolika vyvolen\u00fdm. To je skute\u010dn\u00fd v\u00fdznam Tesori Pontifici: nejen skryt\u00e9 poklady pape\u017esk\u00e9ho sv\u011bta, ale soukrom\u00e9 sb\u00edrky, kter\u00e9 se pomalu staly univerz\u00e1ln\u00edm d\u011bdictv\u00edm.
