Monday – Saturday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 4:00 PM)

Closed: The Vatican Museums are closed every Sunday except the last Sunday of the month, and on specific holidays such as January 1st, February 11th, March 19th, Easter Sunday, June 29th, August 15th, and December 25th and 26th.

How to Get to the Vatican Museums in Rome

By Metro: Take Line A (the red line) and get off at “Cipro – Musei Vaticani” station. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the museum entrance.
By Bus: Several bus lines stop near the Vatican Museums:
Lines 49, 32, 81, and 982 stop right in front of the museum entrance.
Lines 492 and 990 stop at Piazza del Risorgimento, which is a few minutes’ walk from the entrance.
By Tram: Take tram line 19 to the “Piazza del Risorgimento” stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the museum entrance.
On Foot: If you’re near St. Peter’s Square, you can reach the Vatican Museums in about 10-15 minutes by walking along Via di Porta Angelica and then turning right onto Viale Vaticano.
